A shit-faced drunk girl, a football star and a vigilante feminist. The makings of a fairy tale?

18 Dec

drunk princess

So back in August, in Steubenville, Ohio,  a whole bunch of teenagers got together and did what teenagers will typically do when provided with tons of alcohol and little adult supervision:  they got blackout drunk and acted like idiots.

People who will eventually need Ohio inpatient detoxification in the future.

One special girl, an honor roll student and athlete at a smaller, religious school joined the students from the local high school along with several close friends and had a wee bit too much to drink (that can happen).  In fact, she got so drunk, she was slurring her words and stumbling about and eventually passed out cold and her friends packed her up safely in the back of someone’s car and drove her home and told her parents she must have the flu or something and she had a wicked headache the next morning and decided she was never drinking tequila again.

Oh, wait.  Oops. No.  That’s not what happened.

One special girl, an honor roll student and athlete at a smaller, religious school joined the students from the local high school and had a wee bit too much to drink (that can happen).  In fact, she got so drunk, she was slurring her words and stumbling about and eventually passed out cold and APPARENTLY HAS NO FRIENDS OF ANY KIND.

This girl (you can find out her name if you like, but I’ll just call her Princess) somehow managed to find herself in the company of not just one, but TWO local football stars, who then proceeded to act like huge jerks, by taping themselves assaulting Princess, who was too drunk to protest and then posting the images on Twitter and sharing them using their phones.

Did I use the word “assault”?  Yes, I did.  What those boys did was clearly assault, but to describe it as “brutal rape” is a fucking insult to women who have been brutally raped.  The boys deserve a slap and a good talking to about being decent human beings, but there is more to this story than is being reported.  A whole bunch of things are being left out.

As Jezebel has noted, we wouldn’t even know about the story if it weren’t for a righteous blogger who decided that the “brutal rape” of the innocent Princess should result in some serious jail time for the boys involved.  Vigilante feminism in action, where there is only one narrative, and only one possible outcome.  The lady is 100% innocent and good, the young men are 100% evil and bad and the complete destruction of the boys lives is the only acceptable outcome, up to and including jail.

What is being left out? Oh, only the whole entire back story of history and psychology and deeply engrained motivations and desires.  So Princess shows up at the party without a group of friends to protect her and drinks herself into catatonia.

Why doesn’t she have any friends?  An honor roll student and an athlete and she has no friends? Bullshit.  How about this?  She went to a smaller religious school with a group of girls who know just what is going to happen at a testosterone fuelled drinking party loaded with  football players and stayed home that night!  Is that what happened? I don’t know, but if it did, it’s certainly a material fact.  How can Princess claim she didn’t know what could possibly happen when her friends refused to accompany her?  WHY would Princess go to a party without friends and then proceed to get blindly drunk?

Did she want to nail a football star?

football star

Bingo!  And being a teenage girl, raised in a slut-walking feminist culture, she probably thought that giving herself some liquid courage and then blowing one of the players might land her a boyfriend.  Wrong, Princess.  It landed you a night with boys who had nothing but contempt for you.  Jezebel and our vigilante feminist blogger would like people to think that the contempt the boys had for Princess is indicative of the hatred they have for all women, everywhere, all the time.  Is it possible that the boys thought that Princess, specifically was a slut?

And so they treated her like one (surprise!).  And for that they deserve some small punishment.  Fingering a passed out, friendless, boyfriend-hunting slut and posting the pictures on Twitter was a revolting thing to do.  Shame on those boys.

Everyone in this case behaved shamefully, but I take issue with the fact that only the boys are held legally or morally responsible for their actions.  Deciding that ONLY the boys are responsible has some very damaging consequences. First of all, it’s completely infantilizing.  Only men have responsibilities?  Only men are held accountable? Only men can be charged criminally with sex crimes?  At the very least, Princess should be up on charges of underage drinking, public intoxication and indecency.  But no, she’s apparently just a victim and can’t be blamed for any aspect of what happened to her.

Second, it tells young women that it’s OK to go hunting high status males, to travel alone, to drink to the point of unconsciousness and to wake up the next morning with no memory and then place the BLAME on someone else.  Hey look, shark infested waters!  Let’s get super drunk, cover ourselves in fish blood and go swimming!  What can go wrong?

How foolish.  The fact that the boys in question were so utterly unfeeling and contemptuous towards Princess says something about them, to be certain. But it also says something about HER.  And the fact is that no one’s life is going to be ruined by this, if we just leave things well enough alone.  The boys have learned that there are limits to how callously they can act (no matter how slutty the girl) and hopefully, Princess has learned that heading out to drink with the big boys without some good friends to protect her from her own worst, most base impulses is also a bad idea.

But cue the vigilante feminist blogger.  She won’t let this drop.  She wants those boys ruined.  Destroyed.  Rotting in jail.  Completely annihilated.  One of the boys is countersuing for defamation, and good for him.  But honestly, it doesn’t look good.

And that, my friends, is a problem.  When young men, barely beyond childhood themselves are held responsible for their actions, but young women are not, we have tilted the field too far.  I can’t imagine what kind of LAW could be passed to hold women accountable that wouldn’t be horrifically draconian and open to wide abuse.  It has to be part of the culture.  Women need to know that men are not women, and that they will respond in certain situations LIKE MEN.

How do young women protect themselves from men being men?  They have friends.  They travel in groups.  They accept that their own decisions aren’t always going to be wise or accomplish what they hope to accomplish.  THAT is girl power.  Stick together ladies.  If you end up shit-faced drunk at a football party chasing after boys way out of your league, you need some good solid girlfriends to take you home and tell your mom you suddenly came down with the flu.

If someone wants to post a picture of you barfing on Facebook, well, let them.  Make sure your two besties are in the shot, holding back your hair and getting you to drink some water.  No one ever charged their best friends for being friends.

And always remember, if you want to nab the star quarterback, you need to be a cheerleader.  That’s how it works.

Lots of love,

What gets me though, is the videoing it and putting it out there for viral public access. That is how lives get ruined. The legal system can’t keep up with technology, as wouldn’t that be digital defamation? What if she were below the age of consensual sex? That could have been a distributing sexual images of a minor tag… (and that is some heavy fuck your life up shit) But also how stupid of the boys to do that. It’s ugly and horrific. Thank god camera phones weren’t around in my teenage days, or my twenties in fact!
and Thank God, JB and I had each other!!

“Hey look, shark infested waters! Let’s get super drunk, cover ourselves in fish blood and go swimming! What can go wrong?”

My dear.. your writing style takes after my own heart! 🙂

You’re a breath of fresh air in your no-nonsense approach.

“hen young men, barely beyond childhood themselves are held responsible for their actions, but young women are not, we have tilted the field too far. ”

You squarely give the boys hell for being the douches they were and shamed they should be. But you rightly point out every aspect where the girl had agency to take responsibility for her own actions and remove herself from the situation. She abrogated it by placing herself in an already sexually charged situation and compounded it by drinking to the point of blackout.. thus alleviating said snowflake from all responsibility and repercussions.

Ounce of prevention worth a pound of care.

“And always remember, if you want to nab the star quarterback, you need to be a cheerleader. That’s how it works.”

    Well played 😉

This was a topic of discussion when the whole Amanda Todd suicide thing exploded.

Did she, or any other girl deserve to have their life haunted for a stupid mistake? No.

But we live in a world where it’s no longer possible to get an image back off the web. The internet boogyman is alive and well, and instead of telling women to get upset about that fact or douchebags who will put that pick up who don’t care what you have to say (just like you can’t talk a serial killer out of killing people by using shaming language) the only and best response is to teach young kids PROPER behaviors to avoid the risk.

Don’t put yourself in a situation where jocks can abuse you. Don’t drink to oblivion to keep your senses about you and always maintain enough cognitive thought to not grant consent. Never send a stranger or some guy you just met pics of your boobies. Hell don’t even send them to your boyfriend unless you’ve been with him long enough to trust him.

Is it fair that this is the way it has to be? No. Welcome to real life.

  4. judgybitch December 18, 2012 at 16:36 #

Exactly! Legally, you are allowed to wander through the poorest neighborhood in town with hundred dollar bills pinned to your clothes and pass out blind drunk (well, the blind drunk part isn’t legal) and you SHOULD wake up with all your money.

Guess what? You won’t. And that is partly YOUR fault for being such an idiot.

Same goes for drunk girls who get assaulted. Yes, those boys were assholes. But she was a complete and total idiot for putting herself in the situation in the first place.

  5. happycrow December 18, 2012 at 17:07 #

JB – I made much the same point on my blog, and holy SHIT did the feminists on Reddit come down on that one, hard. The boys need a serious talking to by somebody with a pennyroll inside their gloves. They’ll learn after that. I don’t think anything’s going to save that blogger.

  6. dgarsys December 18, 2012 at 23:51 #

I’ve been outright banned and blocked by several people – predictably, women – over the years for pointing out that lady gaga’s hit “Just Dance” was a blueprint for how NOT to behave if you didn’t want predators to think “easy prey”. As self described: drunk, lost her friends, lost her cell phone, wallet, etc….. and out on the town. Most of the rest would just be inconveniences if she still had her friends with her, but incapacitating herself, isolating herself on multiple levels, was the equivalent of wearing a “kick me” sign.

Somehow, the people that would call me stupid for walking swaying drunk through the bad/club end of town flashing cash, and tell me I had made myself an easy mugging target thought I was excusing rape.

  7. judgybitch December 19, 2012 at 00:16 #

Truth hurts baby. A girl needs her crew!

  8. Chaos Cow December 19, 2012 at 16:29 #

But if said drunk girl got behind the wheel of a car, got in an accident and killed someone or simply got pulled over she would be held responsible for her actions. Drive a car drunk…go to jail. Drive your pussy drunk…rape!

Under this logic, wouldn’t the boys be equally NOT responsible for their actions since they were drunk too?

I guess the answer to that question is just as much fantasy as putting yourself in a bad situation and being surprised by a bad outcome.

  9. Liz December 19, 2012 at 18:29 #

It sounds like she wouldn’t have even been able to pick up a set of car keys in her condition. They probably should have taken her to the hospital from the sound of it. Folks die from alcohol poisoning, and she wasn’t far from it by the sound of it.

I do wonder why she wasn’t with friends. This story is sad on many levels. Parents really need to teach their kids responsible behavior (on both ends). Some of the twitter texts that were reported are really over the top..”some people deserve to be peed on”? If I were the mother of that kid (I only have sons), he’d be in the military academy right now.

  10. Liz December 19, 2012 at 18:41 #

Some other thoughts…there is so much shame to go around here. We need to bring back the concept of shame as a society.

The parents on all sides have failed their responsibilities as parents and raised some real douches (the guys involved, to include the baseball-player douche of the aforementioned twitter), and that girl’s parents failed too.

A shit-faced drunk girl, a football star, and a vigilante feminist walk into a bar…

  12. Renee January 3, 2013 at 16:05 #

Were these the boys you were talking about?

  13. princesspixiepointless January 3, 2013 at 17:10 #

    Dear Renee,
Thank you for sending the link that was showing the possible boys in question, regarding

A shit-faced drunk girl, a football star and a vigilante feminitst. The makings of a fairy tale?’

However, the boys in question in the link are possibly underage and it is not a link I feel i want to be included
on the site, as i do not want to propogate their underage stupidity.

How are we supposed to teach kids to behave decently and not bully, when all the grown-ups are so quick to bully
    and humiliate stupid drunk teenagers?

  14. Renee January 3, 2013 at 17:20 #

They raped a girl(repeatedly), posted pictures of her assault on multiple social networking site, and then made a video joking about.
That seems pretty far out of the realm of “stupid drunk teenagers.”

  15. Anonymous January 4, 2013 at 01:00 #

You’re pathetic. They posted pictures of an UNDERAGE girl that could be considered child pornography. They took her from place to place while she was incoherent and without her blessing. They also assaulted her sexually. Rape is rape whether you’re drunk or not. No means no an for you to be attacking this girl after the guys publicly admitted to it on video is disgusting. Also, it is just as bad as being conscious and being raped because either way you have no choice… NO ONE deserves to have that right taken from them. You must have something wrong with your head to think that she was to blame for this… Also you say she should get at least an underage, well then so should all of the sick bastards that took advantage of an UNCONSCIOUS 15 year old girl. That is AT LEAST what they should get.

  16. judgybitch January 4, 2013 at 01:08 #

Hello! The boys are underage TOO. The boys were drunk TOO. If you read what I wrote carefully you will see that I am NOT exusing the boys, but I AM saying that girl was a total idiot to put herself in that position in the first place.

Go to a football party without friends and drink til you are so drunk you cannot speak or walk?

That is just straight up stupid, and she deserves to be called out for being an idiot.

    No apologies.

And remember, I don’t give a fuck what you think.

  17. judgybitch January 4, 2013 at 01:43 #

Hey Renee, that doctor in India who just DIED from her injuries was raped. This idiot of a young woman got fingered by some douchebags while she was blackout drunk, by her own volition.

Assault? It was over the line and it qualifies. Barely.

    Raped? Fuck off.

I think we’re done with you, sweetheart. Go peddle your rape culture bullshit elsewhere.

  18. Observer January 4, 2013 at 14:31 #

Let the story of the Steubenville girl be a lesson to all girls. If you allow others to be in control, you risk horrible things happening. I don’t know what happened that night, I wasn’t there, but there have been so many rumors and lies being told about this case it’s enough to make one’s head spin like Blair in the Exorcist. If the two boys that have been criminally charged did what they are being accused of, then justice will need to take it’s course. If the boys that witnessed it, photographed it happening and laughed about it later did what they did, then definitely shame on you! That mistake you made is what has caused all of this uproar and you should all man up and admit wrong doing. Whether you do it publicly as one boy did, then that’s cool and your apology should be accepted. If you choose to apologize personally to the victim, that’s cool too. But, boys, let this be a lesson to you too and live the rest of your life the decent boys your parents raised you to be.

Now, about the righteous blogger who brought the attention of this story to all of us. This Steubenville case caught my interest as it has many. After first believing what was being said on Twitter, my interest keep me reading. It took me about a week to go into the background of this woman. She’s far from a decent person herself and from what I found, she has quite a history of making distorting the facts for her own “lulz”. There’s a lot of info out there, including fake reports to police regarding a man in Florida who, because of this blogger and her friends, has lost his job, home and has been forced to live in a dilapidated trailer. The man made some mistakes with a popular case years ago, but according to the facts I read, he did not deserved what has happened to him due to the cruelty of this person who claims to want to speak the truth.

I wish I had the time to dedicate to exposing the story behind this woman who has finally gotten the national attention she begged main stream media for. She’s clever though, she has surrounded herself with friends who also enjoy destroying peoples lives while this blogger continually claims innocence of wrong doing. Behind closed doors, this woman, who once called herself Princess along with countless other nics, manipulates and encourages that rumors be spread. She’s a clever one, but for those who take off the rose colored glasses they will see her for what she really is.

Another lesson for all to be learned – beware of wolves in sheep clothing.

  19. XYZ January 4, 2013 at 18:40 #

There is no video of the alleged assault. That is more propaganda being spread by a feminazi blogger. The video they are waving around now was not shot at the location of the alleged fingering. The only photo of the victim posted online shows her fully clothed. Now they’ve altered their story to say she was lured out by some couple to be raped when the earlier version was that she went to the first party with her friends and when they were ready to leave she told them to go without her. She was supposed to be attending a sleepover at her girlfriend’s, but chose to stay. Why send your crew away? Something tells me this girl doesn’t want this publicity.

  20. Billie (@likearadiowave) January 4, 2013 at 19:06 #

“But she was a complete and total idiot for putting herself in the situation in the first place.”
So essentially, people just shouldn’t get drunk whatsoever, and if they do, they deserve rape. I like the total disregard for the underaged victim and the total defending of the sociopathic nutjobs who 1) did this and two 2) BRAGGED ABOUT IT ON A VIDEO.

    Who does that?

Good job, keep up the good work.

  21. judgybitch January 4, 2013 at 20:48 #

Who does that? Douchebag 17 year old football players do that! Welcome to the world, Princess. Go to a party alone, hunting those football players, get shitfaced drunk and GUESS WHAT?

The world is not all cupcakes and superheroes, darling, and you are RESPONSIBLE for understanding that and taking some fucking precautions to protect yourself.

  22. Anonymous January 5, 2013 at 00:08 #

You need to read the criminal law. Fingering a passed out girl is rape. Take it up with the legislature if you disagree. I’ll stick to just praying you don’t have a teenage daughter who ever makes some bad decisions and needs your brand of “compassion.”

  23. judgybitch January 5, 2013 at 00:42 #

Yeah because criminal law is always correct.

Hack a part of a man’s penis off and you have committed a crime. Hack part of your infant son’ penis off and hey who gives a shit?

Beat your neighbor’s kid and you are going to jail. Beat your own kid and that’s just fine.

The criminal code is no arbiter of what is right and wrong.

  24. raven1971 January 11, 2013 at 15:55 #

Her brand of compassion would result in a responsible young woman.
We can’t have too many of those out and about destroying feminists victim trump card can we?

  25. Bustyn January 11, 2013 at 23:07 #

Of course you’re making some pretty broad assumptions here yourself. You’re assuming that the girl wasn’t lured by a so called friend to attend a party. You’re assuming that this young girl was not drugged. You’re assuming that she wanted it, and had it coming. You have to assume these things, because if you don’t you come off as a cold, heartless asshat. Yes, I know, you don’t give a rusty fuck what I think. No need to mention it.

  26. judgybitch January 11, 2013 at 23:47 #

And you’re assuming she has friends who would “lure her”. That there are boys who would drug her. Basically that everyone is guilty but her.

And you’re right. I don’t give a fuck what you think

  27. Bustyn January 11, 2013 at 23:53 #

Yes, I already said that, right up there. The part that says “I know, you don’t give a rusty fuck”, see it? And you’re wrong, I’ve made no assumptions at all. You’re the one making the assertions. One need not make any assumption to conclude that my statements were accurate. Unless you mean to say that there are no people who betray others under the guise of friendship, or that there are no young men who would stoop to drugging women. Is that what you really mean? That you doubt that either of those exist?

  28. judgybitch January 12, 2013 at 00:33 #

    Basic comprehension for retards, Alex?

    What is not playing?

  29. conrad January 14, 2013 at 14:10 #

pretty much this. If JB was this girl’s mother she would say something to the effect of “well what the fuck did you think was going to happen?” the girl would cry, hate her mother for a week or two, and probably be careful to never put herself in that position again.

BAM! instead of ruining the lives of everyone involved with criminal charges and stigma/emotional baggage that will follow them for years, we have turned a shitty night into a learning experience.

  30. Anonymous January 18, 2013 at 17:11 #

JB, hope you get raped good and proper. Then come to me and I’ll give you your brand of compassion. You’re better off dead, if you ask me.

  31. judgybitch January 18, 2013 at 17:13 #

    Ooh. You’re so Fucking Scary!

Who wants to bet a woman wrote this comment?

Bring it, bitch. We’ll see who ends up dead.

  32. princesspixiepointless January 18, 2013 at 19:22 #

Fucking hell. Who are you to spit back such anger and hatred. So that’s what you do with your time? Wishing, hoping, other women get Raped? You’re an asshole!

  33. princesspixiepointless January 18, 2013 at 19:26 #

Rape is a crime. Rape is a brutal violent crime. Those boys will go to trial in February, so in your opinion a woman voicing her opinions should get raped? Just because you think you’re anonymous, you get to spout your hatred towards women in our comments. Fuck you.

  34. Anonymous January 18, 2013 at 20:10 #

So men can basically be expected to behave like sadistic monsters and women should just get it already, and try to make the best of it? Is that what you’re saying? That the strong woman is the one who understands that men can never expected to behave like human beings and therefore anyone who’d still want them to is naive?
You are a female chauvinistic handmaiden. And you don’t even realize how much this self-hate is hurting your own soul.

  35. judgybitch January 18, 2013 at 20:23 #

Meh. I got Spider-Man bandaids for my soul. Don’t you worry, lovey.

Your comment exposes your hatred for men in general. Can men be expected to behave like sadistic monsters? All men? Everywhere? Under all circumstances?

Nope. But some men will. Although let’s be clear: we are talking about teenage boys here (who were ALSO loaded) and if you think getting fingered is sadism, you need to look up what that word means.

It was louche, to be certain. It was assault, no question about it.

Ask your self this: why didn’t ONE SINGLE OTHER GIRL step in to put a stop to the humiliation of a passed out attention whore? Where were this girl’s friends?

If you’re going to make sweeping generalizations, make them about how much women suck, too. Boys don’t have the market cornered on suckage, by any stretch of the imagination.

Read what I wrote carefully. The boys were douchebags who deserve to be censured for what they did. The girls who stood around and watched another girl get carried around like a sack of potatoes are straight up mean girls. And the girl, who went to a party on the hunt for some football stars, bears some responsibility for what happened to her.

That’s called agency. It’s called autonomy. It’s called understanding that you can and do have some personal responsibility for your own decisions and if you set yourself up as easy prey, expect to attract predators.

That’s life, honeybunch. There are no guaranteed happy endings. Don’t want to risk getting fingered while black out drunk? Don’t GET black out drunk, and if you do, make sure you have some friends who will have your back.

    Welcome to the jungle, Princess.

  36. judgybitch January 18, 2013 at 21:24 #

    No shit, eh?

Oh look. A woman expressed an opinion I don’t agree with. I hope she gets raped.

Yay for the sisterhood! I wonder if she was one of the bitches who just stood by and watched?

  37. Mike Hunter January 19, 2013 at 21:03 #

The fact that the executive branch allowed feminist interest groups like the National Organization of Women to redefine the legal definition of rape in a closed door meeting doesn’t mean anything.

Fingering someone isn’t rape, getting a bj isn’t rape, fucking someone against their will IS rape.

  38. judgybitch January 20, 2013 at 21:19 #

    Obvious troll is obvious.

  39. judgybitch January 20, 2013 at 21:30 #

    “Eventually she got into it”.

Depends what you mean by that, Jack, my boy. Did she open her mouth and tell you to stop? Did she use her words to let you know she had changed her mind?

Then, Jack, love, you are a rapist.

Or, did she expect you to magically be able to read her mind? Were you supposed to know that she had changed her mind because she stopped moaning/she moaned too loud? She stopped squirming/she squirmed too much? She said your name/she didn’t say your name? She wrapped her legs around you tightly/didn’t wrap her legs around you tightly?

If she changed her mind and failed to communicate that to you, then yes, she is at fault. 100%

It’s called mens rea. In order for a crime to have occured, you have to be aware you are committing a crime.

Aaaaaand cue the legal pedants is 3 -2 -1.

Look up mens rea and culpability before you start any jackassery, Jack.

  40. judgybitch January 20, 2013 at 21:48 #

Good reading comprehension, Jack. Which part of 100% seems like “partially at fault” to you?

Guess what “wait” means? It means, give me a second to consider what I want.

Were you drunk, Jack? If alcohol renders individuals immune from being held accountable for their decisions, then I’m afraid you can’t be held accountable either.

Sounds to me like you ARE a rapist, Jack. If she was into to, and then changed her mind, but failed to communicate that to you, then she is 100% at fault for not making her wishes clear. That’s called “agency”.

If she said “wait” and you didn’t, well, sorry darling, but you are guilty.

All of this assumes that we are not going to deploy the “drunk people are not responsible for what they do” argument. That would make drunk driving rather interesting to prosecute, wouldn’t it? And it would make prosecuting you impossible, too. If you were drunk, of course.

See, the fact is that people like you exist. And if your future dates don’t want to end up being raped while you ignore their requests to wait, they need to take a few precautions, such as not getting black out drunk and not riding your dick without any clear concept of how far they would like to go. Since future dates will not KNOW you are the kind of guy to just ignore requests (and you are not likely to tell them), they need to exercise some normal sense and caution.

And you need to run into a girl with some martial arts training.

  41. MMM January 21, 2013 at 15:53 #

(many/most) Douchebag 17 year olds will stop doing this shit if it was treated properly, as a crime. Going out into the world alone and female is not a crime.

Women should feel safe going out on their own. Maybe she was meeting a guy there, or hoping to, seems like a normal fucking thing to do, a thing not deserving of punishment or ridicule, it’s a normal fucking thing to do.

But if a woman being alone is the key to putting her at fault and not taking action against criminals we should all be able to agree that there is a problem for women in this world.

Women should feel safe going out on their own? Okay. Sure.

Should they feel safe getting black out drunk at a party with lots of other drunk and high people? Nope. No one should feel safe in that situation

    Know why?

  43. Alex Stupes January 21, 2013 at 18:37 #

Yeah girl! Damn right! You go to a party and get stupid drunk around a bunch of dudes you don’t know, prepare to get fingerblasted, slut! So glad you’re on the side of right!

  44. judgybitch January 21, 2013 at 18:47 #

Assume it’s a possibility. Rather like assuming it’s possible you will get robbed if you wander through Central Park at midnight completely trashed with your wallet taped to your forehead.

Why is common sense so hard to get your head around? Because it runs contrary to your poor wittle innocent lamb lost in the woods narrative?

Being female doesn’t excuse you from taking some responsibility for your own safety. Are you really arguing that women’s safety is only ever the responsibility of men? Seriously?

    No thanks.

  45. Alex Stupes January 21, 2013 at 18:50 #

No, I agree! My frat bro Jack linked me here, and we’re 100% in your corner. All us guys in Sigma Chi are totally in your corner. Keep fighting the good fight, girl!

  46. judgybitch January 21, 2013 at 18:52 #

Oh come on. Try for something original.

  47. Anonymous January 25, 2013 at 19:15 #

seriously?! people sometimes drink too much and without even realizing it, it hits them..NOBODY deserves to have others put their hands on them while they are unconscious..or even conscious and non-consenting. it was a disgusting act, even more so because it was videotaped and posted online. anyone who doesn’t see the problem with it needs to get their head checked.

  48. sqt February 23, 2013 at 08:32 #

Ah yes. The feminist response to anything they don’t like. “I hope you get raped.” I’ve never seen this before…

  49. combs2jc February 25, 2013 at 16:59 #

JB you just learned an important lesson in dealing with liberals (ya I know you already know this). When liberals go on a witch hunt they will ignore ANY evidence that shows their side did something stupid which empowered the other side. They will make up “facts” AND when everything they have tried fails???? You guessed it … they resort to name calling and hate speech. But of course YOU are the one guilty of hate speech, YOU are the one who is insensitive. Even though they say they hope you get raped and you never wished that on anyone.
Just be glad this article wasn’t about Obama Rex or they would be saying you are a racists.

  50. combs2jc February 25, 2013 at 17:32 #

JB When I was a 23 year-old submariner sailor our sub pulled into Toulon, France. Of course our officers gave us a briefing telling us what parts of the city were off-limits. It was for our safety they said that we were not allowed in those sections of the city. So of course those were the first places we went. About 2 AM I was ready to go back to my sub, but my buddies were not finished drinking soooo I left ALONE and started to walk back to the base. It wasn’t long before I started to attract the wrong kind of attention. I tried to make myself look like I would not be an easy target. Lucky for me I must have been convincing because I made it back safely.
Everytime after that when the ship told us what areas of a city were off limits I asked for a map and made DAMN sure I did not go there. I learned my lesson, fortunately not the hard way. There are some things people do that, though they are not “asking for trouble”, are just plain stupid. You just do not take risks that you do not need too. And ending up at a drunken party without your friends is one of the risks that are not smart to take even if you are “not asking for it.”

  51. judgybitch February 25, 2013 at 17:37 #

That just seems so damn obvious to me.

You don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.

Life lesson Number One, if you ask me.

  52. combs2jc February 25, 2013 at 17:43 #

yup and I learned my lesson well.
Take care JB … don’t let the bastards get to you.
Lokking forward to the youtube shows.

  53. Z March 23, 2013 at 07:34 #

Everybody is compassionate until somebody tells the truth about a poor innocent princess slut. Then it’s on like Donkey Kong. Apparently.

  54. Z March 23, 2013 at 07:38 #

You know what’s even more important? If JB was her mom and had sat her down and said that… she wouldn’t feel like she was the biggest victim EVAR. She wouldn’t start buying her own press about how world-ending this all was. She wouldn’t face the humiliation and drama of a court case. She wouldn’t face the threats from her community. It would just be something stupid she did that would be soon forgotten at the next drunk party where some other drunk slut acted stupid, but she’d smartly not go to that party.

But no. She’s a VICTIM, and now, very likely, she’ll carry far more shame and pain for this than she would have if people hadn’t just egged her on and amped up her emotional status. Sometimes it’s a favor to a young girl to not make her feel like her stupid mistake is the end of humanity as we know it.

  55. Z March 23, 2013 at 07:40 #

Exactly. It’s offensive to real rape victims to suggest that these things are even remotely related. Last I checked, there is no risk of STDs or pregnancy from a finger. (Might be wrong on the STD thing, I guess it depends on where his finger was last and how long ago.)

  56. Z March 23, 2013 at 07:42 #

LOL, yeah but it “should be”. Read your princess unicorn manual. Gah! What “should be” is what “must be”. I’m sure it’s in the feminist manifesto somewhere right under “housework is demeaning slave labor.”

  57. Erik Norén October 21, 2013 at 18:28 #

Not sure they held even contempt for her, i think it was simply neutral, they didn’t consider her at all.

  58. BernicE December 12, 2013 at 15:22 #

I think there is many facts not being put out there, yes the boys acted shamefully, but I think this girl knew what was going to happen, after everything she acted fine, in statement witness, her friends say they picked her up and the boys and they drove together, to be dropped off at their houses, she knew what happened, it says she woke up without underwear, with one of the boys, I think she had no problem with it, pictures got out parents found out and she played victim to squirm out of it

  59. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:29 #

Would anyone here be surprised to learn that her mother was a diehard feminist who thought talking to her about what she wore, drank, and where she went would be advance victim-blaming?

  60. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:31 #

It’s probably a good thing she wasn’t actually raped, then. Right?

What responsibility do you think the girl bears for what happened. Any?

  61. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:36 #

“Women should feel safe going out on their own.”

    But not men?

Men make up a significant majority of the victims of violent crime. I assume from your post, though, that you don’t give a shit about that. Why not?

  62. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:39 #

“Fingering a passed out girl is rape.”

It wasn’t considered such for over 99% of history, for good reason. BECAUSE THERE IS A DIFFERENCE between what happened at Steubenville, which involved the insertion of the tip of a finger, and something like penile penetration. You’re not interested in what’s just and reasonable, obviously.

  63. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:40 #

I had suspected from your earlier posts you were mentally ill. The confirmation is hardly surprising.

  64. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:43 #

And yet, you seem to want to verbally fingerblast anyone who thinks the boys were a couple of shites but doesn’t quite share your one-sided sense of self-important outrage.

You’re the only one who needs to get their head checked, sweetie.

  65. Jack Strawb December 3, 2014 at 05:45 #

Dear god. There’s actually someone out there dumb enough to think this sort of nonsense is exclusive to liberals.

WMDs and demonizing the opposition, anyone? Get a clue. It’s not the province of one part of the political spectrum.

  66. combs2jc December 3, 2014 at 23:58 #

No not exclusive to liberals. Liberals are just the masters of it. Once again Jack Strawb you prove the point. Liberals don’t argue facts, they don’t know or even care about facts. They argue to win. When they can win the argument they resort to name calling and misdirection. And as far as WMD’s go I guess you stopped reading the New York newspapers a little too soon. The only one who needs to get a clue is you, Your antics won’t work here.
