Paul Elam interviews Me! Spoiler: I end up with hair in my throat!

18 Apr

I accidentally set the camera resolution at the lowest setting.

Oops.

The footage is a bit grainy.  Sorry!  I’m learning!

Lots of love,

JB

Thank you, thank you thank you! I am so happy to know I am not the only person who sees the history and economics of “traditional roles” and the issue of labor market participation and how it affects those things. O.K. back to watching the video.

Good interview, and solid points. I’m one of those guys that’s tuned out even though I’m very traditionally oriented. I wouldn’t say that I’m risk-averse, though.

One thing I’ve noted after “coming out of the closet”, so to speak, is that there’s a bit of a stigma attached to a guy that doesn’t pursue women. Most guys will say something like, “Well, yea, but that’s just because you can’t get laid anyhow.” Even something as simple as “risk averse” implies cowardice or fear on the man’s part and does nothing to address the real issue of cost versus benefit.

Maybe I’m being too analytical in my approach to dating and such, but I don’t see the return on my investment being worth the cost of the stocks. What’s the upside to this purchase? Would I be “risk averse” if I bought a car that was both expensive and threatened to break down all the time?

Even if I ran into the local version of Judgy Bitch, how could she prove that she was worth the costs associated with a relationship?

I can’t do better than to second this and say here, here. The notion that ‘love’ is all that matters is absurd, and avoiding risk is instinctive in all living things. There is nothing unmanly in deciding that a net loss and possibly a great deal of unnecessary sacrifice and suffering over a lengthy period are simply not worth it, not even for ‘love’, whatever that is.

I liked the interview with Paul Elam, watched at YouTube, so much that I’ve decided to follow you. Another common sense female voice in the chorus of dissent is always welcome and worth listening to.

Yeah, I can see that “risk averse” was probably not the best word choice. I meant it in the sense of an investment portfolio. If you are a risk averse investor, you don’t put your money into ventures where you stand a good chance of losing your investment. I didn’t mean it in the sense of being afraid to take physical risks.

I’ll figure out a better way to say that in the future, or at least clarify how I’m using the terms.

The sensible man weighs the pros and cons of whatever he is about to do, especially if this involves not only a huge commitment but when he runs the risk of having his ENTIRE LIFE annihilated at the mere whim of some harridan with complete backing of an institution that holds total power over the lives of the people under its authority.

I for one will not enter into a contract, no matter how good the woman, when she is the one that all the cards. I want authority in my own house that I payed for with my hard earned money. My house, car, (and my kids if I had any) and all my possessions are NOT up for auction to the person who is intentionally out to destroy me just because some person in a black robe said so.

Janet made it clear that her decisions to by a SAHM was due to the structure of the economy. My decision to avoid marriage is based upon the structure of the political and judicial system that has made me criminal simply because I’m male. I don’t make bad investments, especially where the odds of finding a Janet are about 1 in 50,000. TERRIBLE odds.

Men BUILT this fucking civilization and we’re supposed to kneel before the vagina just because? You’ve got to be kidding! No thanks. In the words of the computer Joshua (from War Games), sometimes “the only winning move is not to play”.

The 20th century has seen some of the worst and destructive political ideologies in history. It’s no wonder that over 200 million ended up DEAD. About 150 million or so fell victim to socialism (feminism is its shrew of a daughter). In the end this is what happens when people make government a god and the enforcer of their own sick, twisted ideology.

    Anyway /end-rant for now.

Great interview from beginning to end, thanks for posting it! I enjoyed it in its entirety, but the main, HUGE takeaway, for me personally, was when you gave the one and only reason why you care about men and their rights and why others should too: “Because they are HUMAN BEINGS”. I wanted to stand up and cheer. It is so obvious and so simple, yet so many people don’t seem to grasp it. With that, I am off to laugh at a feminazi. Some silly twit is claiming PTSD brought on by… wait for it… people’s responses to her Twitter posts (!!), and I just can’t pass up a good belly laugh.

You don’t have to be risk averse to not want to get married. If I just happen to think the Ford Pinto is a butt-ugly car, the fact that it also blows up is irrelevant. If the women I have to choose from are all hostile bitches who make manatees look anorexic, then it does not take any effort from the family courts at all to keep me from getting married.

So risk averse is not the right term. “pushed away” would be a better one.

This has nothing to do with what you said (which I agree with, BTW). But except for your Canadian pronunciation of ‘out’, you talk _just like_ Cassandra Peterson (a.k.a. “Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark”).
