The Men’s Conference has a new venue and I would love to see protesters show up there

Edited to add: Even though I am pretty sure veterans can take care of themselves, we will still be locking the place down with security.  Our veterans have already given enough and we will not allow any harm to come to them or the hall.

AVFM International Conference on Men’s Issues Changing Venue

The disingenuous and quite insane backlash against the International Conference on Men’s Issues has produced some interesting results. First, the onslaught of yellow journalism from places like Daily Kos and the Huffington Post has been unprecedented, even for those two myth-factories.

The other thing it has produced is a hell of a lot more interest in the conference, and more ticket sales. So much so, as a matter of fact, that we have opted to move to a venue that will seat more people and provide more security than was available previously.

While we apologize for any inconvenience that the move is going to cause, it is nonetheless a positive move for the conference. Because seating capacity was misrepresented to us at the previous venue, we were forced to plan for an overflow room where we would pipe in live events to a monitor at reduced ticket prices.

With the change of venue we will be able to accommodate all attendees in the same space at the same time.

An auspicious place for a conference on men’s issue to occur, VFW Post 1146 Walter F Bruce at 28404 Jefferson Avenue will serve as an appropriate setting to observe and discuss the issues facing men and boys in modern culture.

We hope you will join us there to begin a new era of how we discuss matters of sex, gender and power, with compassion for all human beings and in interest in solving all problems people face, not just those selected for us by modern gender ideologues.

We will be posting more details on this in the near future.

“The Men’s Conference has a new venue and I would love to see protesters show up there”

At first I read it like “We have moved the conference to the Moon, good luck protesters, space flight ain’t cheap”.

Funny thing, that. I was taught at a very young age that “all publicity is good publicity” and groups like the feminists and Peta (to name a few) are famous for being infamous.

Unfortunately for them it seems this time it backfired. The group (feminists) who were trying to use their own fame to quash this conference instead just got them even more publicity.

    Whoops.

Frankly the most intelligent thing they could have done would have been to stay completely silent and keep it under the radar. Of course I don’t think a group who uses “shut up, shut up I’m talking” as their main argument can be called the most intelligent.

Oh so very brilliant. Perfect. The VFW post. Y’all really got your stuff together. Seriously. And I’m really glad the venue will be able to seat everyone in the same place bodily. That’s more powerful an experience by far. Keep on.

I can’t be there. I checked my privilege, but that didn’t help. Anyways… Will there be video available after the event?

it’s great that there is more space & more attendees but I wish it was still taking place at a mainstream venue that was easily accessible not because i want the protests but because it helps make us seem less like a fringe movement.

The idea of a VFW post is delicious. It’s as good as my suggestion, a Nevada strip club.

But the brutal reality is the majority of the electorate is female, and do you really want to be the judge that “allowed” a men’s rights conference to go forward? That would be career suicide.

Maybe not if MRAs were politically active and not so allergic to Republicans but I digress.
