I completely agree with you here. I oppose both male and female genital mutilation and think that anyone concerned about human rights should be speaking out against both. I oppose the draft for both men and women. I think a man who doesn’t want to be a father should have the option of forfeiting all parental rights and walking away, though it needs to happen as soon as he first learns about the unborn or born child’s existence, not years later. I also completely agree with custody arrangements that focus on the best interests of the child to have a healthy relationship with both parents. In some rare cases, this may mean greatly limiting, or even ending, that child’s contact with an abusive parent, but in most cases, the more equal the arrangement, the better. And last but not least, I support having a legal system and society that supports both men’s and women’s rights to only have consensual sexual experiences.
I guess where we differ is that I believe that both men and women are equally worthy of compassion and second chances in life. That’s why I oppose having a sex offender registry, and it’s also why I oppose branding people who’ve been promiscuous, whether male or female, as whores, and why I oppose branding a single mom as unworthy of marriage. By the same token, I think a young man who walked away from a child he fathered at a young age can indeed mature into a good father someday. The hard part is the fact that the child he walked away from is nevertheless likely to suffer a lot of pain, and also to resent the man who walked away a lot more than he or she will resent the single mom who was too “dumb” to abort, because most of us, no matter how hard our lives are, still would choose life for ourselves over never being born. So I guess it’s impossible to make everything completely equal.

Jim, “they” didn’t just whine about it. Women were beaten, women died in jail. It’s a long history going back to pre-Revolutionary days. My mother never missed an election and she instilled in my sister and my daughters that women died so that they could vote.
(JB, a minor point. The US Constitution doesn’t set any voting standards such as gender or age. That’s left to each state. That’s why a handful, all in the west, gave women the right to vote before 1900. Further sub-note, women in Utah voted in FAVOR of polygamy! Wow, talk about religious brain washing.)

There is no record of any women having died for the suffrage movement that I’m aware of, except for one accidental death when a woman gt trampled by a horse that she ran out in front of during a protest..
We talked about this a while back on this forum.
There are a lot of efforts to “lionize” women from the suffrage movement, which is fine, because they performed a valuable service and righted an historic wrong, but let’s be honest about their true sacrifices during the process.
It was NOT dangerous to be a woman involved in the suffrage movement. The common claim that it was is a lie. There was no personal, physical risk associated with it. Just time and effort, like anything else.

WHOA! Slow down there, Nelly. 80% of all divorces are initiated by WOMEN, that means mothers too. It’s WOMEN who are almost 100% to blame for single mothers- you need to start looking in the mirror. It’s horrific enough that HALF of all children are being raised by single mothers, but it’s psychotic to blame men for it! You need to learn statistics and get up to speed with the times you live in.
This isn’t 1975 where a man can just disappear and run from his obligations- no matter where he runs to they will track him down and garnish his payroll checks and throw him jail if he doesn’t pay child support. There is no where for a father to run TO. And then the rest of the single mothers today never had any intention of ever getting married or living with the father to begin with!
Think ‘Honey Boo Boo’ -that’s the typical U.S. female today- she makes a LOT more money collecting child support from 3 different fathers for 3 different children than she can having just one father in the home. That’s why all the mix and match families as well, not to mention virtually all women today cheat and a father in the home really puts a damper on the 21st century U.S. female whore lifestyle.
Men and fathers have ZERO rights to their children or any legal rights at ALL in ANY situation involving their children. Imagine a man and woman with 2 children living together. One day the mother says, “I don’t love you anymore and want you to leave,” (which is the case 99% of the time in all broken home because she’s fucking someone else) and then the father shouts, “NO! I’m not leaving!! I’m staying here and being a father to my children!!”
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN NEXT? That’s right, Dummy, he’s going out anyway, but now in a brand new pair of matching handcuffs!! You’re 20 years behind the times! That was the whole reason for VAWA in 1994! It was a sick and evil way for women to eject men and fathers from the home.
And then the second a female has a baby and is single, the STATE immediately throws money at her and she gets to live for free- no MEN allowed in the house. OUT. If a man doesn’t earn at least 80,000 year then he is not making more than what she can scam from the government as a single and/or scam from suckers in child support. SINGLE MOTHERS are single BY CHOICE.
How DARE you even imply that single mothers are single because of fathers who don’t care. There are MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of fathers out there right now living in HELL because they were ejected from their families by their whore wives and then if they lose their jobs and can’t pay child support, it’s off to jail. You misunderstood my post. I wasn’t blaming men for single parent homes: I was agreeing that men should have equal reproductive rights, or at least the closest thing you can get to equal when gestation only occurs in women. Since a woman can have an abortion, a man should be able to say, “If you decide to continue with this pregnancy, you’ll be completely on your own,” and be free to walk away — but I think he needs to say it early enough for the woman to be able to make an informed decision.

In fairness to Spanish men — I talk to many in my job as a telephone English teacher — “Spaniard” is not a typical Spanish male. Most of the men I talk with, from all over the world, are happily married, and have a lot of respect for their wives and their wives’ careers and abilities, and a lot of respect for women in general, as well as for people from all different cultures. But I guess the U.S. isn’t the only place with a few rednecks.

Funny that in Switzerland there was a referendum about female suffrage and only for women. So, women voted if they wanted to have the right to vote or not. And what they voted massively? “NO”.

I don’t know why this “Jews run the world”, or “they have no souls” and all that still persists. It’s weird though. I remember having a quick conversation with this Jewish guy and it got around to marriage. The look in his face immediately changed and he said to me sternly, “Whatever you do never marry a Jewish women”. I asked him but he said, “Just don’t. You’ll really regret it if you do.” I was about to press him further but being at work made it impossible to continue.

Where did you hear that? The suffragettes were handled with extreme caution. Force fed when they went on hunger strikes to keep them alive, and released from prison early (when they were in prison for burning down buildings and other such actual crimes).
Compare that to what happens in places where people are actually oppressed. Like Syria, or Egypt, or the black civil rights movement (where’s Martin Luther King?)

Maybe it’s just me and my “vobis non me dux” (you’re not the boss of me) attitude, but I think the entire idea of a draft is just absolutely obscene. In a country that supposedly abolished slavery, we still seem to be in a big damn hurry to enslave people. The draft is evil because:
1. It allows governments to fight wars that are too unpopular to field armies made up of volunteers. I think a good acid test for a war should be “can you find enough men to volunteer to fight it?” If “no”, then maybe the war shouldn’t be fought. The draft eliminates a very important check on government power and war-mongering;
2. It allows governments to make others fight wars in their stead. I’ve never seen a politician so outraged by the state of things that he grabs a rifle and runs to the front lines, himself. But they are all very glad to make other people go to the front lines, through threat of imprisonment and lifelong ostracism.
3. It is slavery, only worse. If you take a man, say “DO THIS OR ELSE I’LL DO VIOLENCE AGAINST YOU, and in return, I’ll give you free room and board” that’s slavery. If you take a man, say “Put your life in peril, and allow other men from another country to commit unspeakable violence against you, follow my every command unquestioningly for fear of execution or imprisonment, or else I’ll commit violence against you, myself, and in return, I’ll feed you while you live in a shitty, muddy little foxhole,” that’s the draft.
For those reasons, I think the draft should be abolished. Maybe without that crutch to lean on, we’ll see our government stop being so goddamned obstinate and quick to start lobbing bombs at people.

I never did figure out why it’s okay to blow the legs off of an 18 year old adolescent against his will, but suggest that you do the same to a woman who has volunteered for that duty, and it’s beyond the pale.
I understand why, on a basic biological and evolutionary scale, men are more expendable than women. One man can sire hundreds of children, whereas one woman, on average, maybe a half dozen? So it’s a lot easier to repopulate after you lose a shit-ton of men, than it is after you lose a shit-ton of women.
But we’re not talking about basic biological or evolutionary survival at this point, so I wonder if it’s possible for us to change our attitudes about sending men to be mutilated because of some political slight that had no effect over the men who were dying, at all?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a pacifist. You punch me, I’ll punch you back. You threaten my life, I’ll take yours. But I would never expect anyone to fight my battles for me, or to be willing to die because trade tariffs are too high.

I would actually love to see it become easier for the illegal Mexicans in my community, many of whom are working hard and striving to provide a better life for their children, to obtain permanent residency here, rather than constantly living in fear of being caught and deported. I’ve met at least two U.S.-born women who are raising their children alone, not because of “frivorce” or abandonment, but because their husbands haven’t yet able to get things in order to stay here legally. I honestly wish it could be as easy as you say it is to get the U.S. to open up its borders.
But I agree with you that there’s a risk that any government could become a dictatorship. That’s one reason why it’s so important for everyone to stay informed on current events, and also to get out and vote.
