In other words, she was born a woman and considers herself to be a woman.The term is used by transgender people to describe non-trans. Since many if not most feminists are violently opposed to trans women, I don’t think they care for the term.
Yes, Ellen is cis. How would you describe trans women (either pre or post operation) who have relationships with cis women. If “cis” simply meant orientation, by your defintion the trans woman would also be “cis” because was in a relationship with a person of the opposite sex that she was born in.
