6 Times Feminists Were Whiny Joyless Shrews in 2014

shrews

This was published on Thought Catalog a few days ago, but I am just getting around to linking it now. By no means an exhaustive list of all the whiny, bitchy pointless caterwauling feminists engaged in in 2014.

There’s also manspreading – men sitting comfortably on a train is just pure, outrageous misogyny. Women never take up too much space on trains. Look at the picture used to illustrate the original story: there is a woman sitting with her knees splayed apart right across from the manspreading offender – and you’ll note the seat next to him is empty! He isn’t bothering anybody! The reality that pretty much everyone sits comfortably on trains is right in front of their eyes and they still can’t see it.

leg spreading

And now we have manslamming – this refers to women who refuse to get out of men’s way on the sidewalk, deliberately run into them, and then blame the men.

Seriously, seriously stupid. Grown women need to be taught the etiquette of using sidewalks? The person moving the slowest moves over. Is it really that hard? It doesn’t matter if it’s a man or a woman. If you want people to move out of your way, grab some sensible shoes and pick up the pace, bitch.

And who can forget the woman-hating reality of women choosing to use bathrooms to socialize, fix their hair and makeup and adjust complicated clothing – this is also men’s fault. It’s pure unadulterated misogyny that men use bathrooms to pee and get the hell out. How dare they wear clothing that is quick and easy to function in, when it comes to tending the call of nature?

Here are six more ways feminists were whiny, joyless shrews in 2014. The comments are hilarious – feminist haters are pissed at being mocked, but it’s not like they made it difficult or anything.

2015 is sure to bring even more pissing, moaning and whining from the feminist brigade, but it will also bring a whole lot of push back.

Are you sick of these whiny bitches?  Me too.

Let’s show feminists the door in 2015. Bye bye now.

Don’t let the bathroom door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Lots of love,

JB

Well done. Fems may have been whiny, joyless, shrews in 2014, but I found many of them to be uproariously funny. Some of them are so ridiculous, they have become nothing but parodies of their own selves.

At some point during the year, I managed to get myself kicked out of a discussion over doors. Doors are also oppressive. Sometime men open doors, not to be nice, but because they believe women do not know how to operate doors, which is very sexist, which triggers childhood issues, which makes one sound like such a basket case, one really does start to doubt your ability to actually negotiate a doorway without some assistance. 😉

Maybe a man should conduct an experiment where, while walking, when he approaches a group of inconsiderate women standing in the middle of the hallway or sidewalk shooting the shit about Downtown Abbey or whatever, he just plows right through them. How else to confront the ‘female privilege’ of thinking you own public space and are entitled to block others from using it as long as you please.

Saying ‘excuse me, you’re in my way’? What oppression! And victim blaming! You may as well put a gun to my head an command me to pledge allegiance to ISIS!

In all seriousness, let’s all remember that is apparently what feminists mean when they say ‘our issues matter more than yours.’ Male victims of domestic violence, male depression and suicide, custody rights, homeless, are clearly backburner issues compared to this one. Clearly.

So when men pay child support, are they oppressing women by showing that they don’t believe women are capable of paying their own way?

When men support feminist domestic violence (against women) campaigns, are they oppressing women by showing that they don’t think women are capable of protecting and defending themselves?

    Is being stupid just fun?

    “Is being stupid just fun?”

I don’t think so, they seem rather miserable. How miserable do you have to be to complain about the burden of wrapping Christmas gifts? Or the horror of having some kind man hold a door open for you? It’s really is rather pathetic.

I agree that the writer went overboard about the public restroom issue. But heck, for buildings that were constructed years ago when it was assumed that few or no women would ever be working there, it doesn’t seem like too much to ask for those workplaces to adapt to the growing number of female employees by giving them some of the restroom space that was formerly just for men.

As for her rationale about women needing more restroom space because of breastfeeding, I personally caught some flack in a couple of public places because I feel like wherever babies are when they happen to get hungry, that’s where they should eat. Anyplace it’s okay to pop a bottle in their mouth, it’s okay to give them your breast. So I DIDN’T hide out in the restroom to nurse, I did it right there, wherever I was.

Looking back, the flack I got was pretty much from women. I don’t recall any men ever expressing offense — or even rudely leering for that matter — when one of my children was nursing.

Manslamming sounds incredibly rude compared to just quietly helping your baby latch onto your breast. For women who want to assert themselves, why not start by helping make breastfeeding the norm in every social situation where babies happen to be present? If you don’t have a baby yourself, why not, when out in any public situation where you see a new mom with an obviously hungry baby who seems to be hesitating about feeding the baby right there (FYI, it’s obvious when they’re rooting around on Mom’s chest), get into the habit of giving an encouraging smile and letting her know that her baby’s needs come first and that everyone around her should understand that — after all, we all started our lives as tiny creatures who needed to nurse frequently?

As public breastfeeding becomes the norm, this will free up more restroom space for the women who really need to pee.

That’s because if a man sees a woman nursing a child he thinks about how right that looks and how nice kids of his own would be – which is totally about oppressing women

I just did a quick search to see if there’s been any research about male vs. female opinions on public breastfeeding, and found this interesting and funny article. I think it may very well be that most of the people trying to come between babies and their mother’s breasts (in public) are women and not men.

They’re running out of things to complain about. When most men don’t catcall them, pay for the date after offering to go dutch and don’t complain about their clothes, how are White, middle-class, Western women to feel like victims?

As a side note, surely every feminist worth her salt SHOULD know about menstrual cups? Those handy silicone things that cost a fraction of the price of disposable sanitary products, are more comfortable and healthier? Or would having to clean something oppress them?

American women attempting to ‘teach’ ANYONE about etiquette is hilarious! In the course of a day in my business THE absolute RUDEST, SHITTIEST people I have to deal with are always women. Flakey, unaccountable, petty, spiteful, antagonistic, ignorant of everything, narcissistic, toxic, shrill, arrogance, loud, inconsiderate CUNTS who can barely even TALK who wouldn’t know what ‘etiquette’ or professionalism was if it was fucking them up the ass. HAHAHA!!

I just got round to reading her silly article, and realized that I’m lucky in that I quit worrying over whether I got “looked askance at” a long time ago. I agree that Christmas is for EVERYONE to enjoy, and my husband and I also agree that it’s especially for our kids — and childhood consumerism aside, it’s actually pretty damned easy to do Christmas when you’re just trying to make it fun for those closest to you.

For the women who choose to make it all about who might “look askance” at them for failing to jump through all the hoops, maybe you need to take a step back and look at some traditions prior to now.

My grandmother used to fondly reminisce about her childhood Christmases, in which everyone in town got together in the schoolhouse on Christmas day and had a big potluck dinner and party. Family members didn’t buy gifts for each other. Each family brought one gift for someone the same age and sex of each member of their family, and each family member walked away with one gift when they left at the end of all the fun and games.

If family traditions are weighing anyone down, talk to the family and work out a new solution. The “clusterfuck” that many people think is a traditional Christmas is actually quite new.

    “Misadry doesn’t exist”

I am sorry but the trend of putting “man” in front of something to make it a negative tells me differently.

Men generally don’t want to bothervwomen when they’re doing their “women’s work”. That includes feeding Junior. Besides, who would take food out of a baby’s mouth?

“He is an editor of Think Progress…” That about explains everything. Either a) he’s so self-loathing and submissive a man that his position in the Valenti household is mutually tolerable for both of them, or 2) he get’s a pass for being normal (or even being philanderer or worse, a la Bill Clinton or Hugo Schyzer) because he’s on the ‘right side.’
