Confessions of a Serial Rapist

Well now, this is interesting. You have to read right through to the end.

I’ll tell you a secret: it’s easier to rape when you are in a long term relationship. Consent gets pretty murky. My partners were not always into sex when I wanted it. I didn’t care. And because they valued me, and their relationship with me, they accepted it. Their own minds were murky. That’s the perfect storm.

It’s a hidden secret by extremist feminist women … this and similar things happens a lot …

Tha was a great read. I have to wonder what those wacky feminists will make of it. If they believe that only men can rape, then there should be a lot of cheering for the author.

Woman strips off her clothes and pushes things, it’s “sexy” and “seduction”. Man does the same thing, it’s “rape”.

Been done to me a number of times by my ex-wife. If I’d done it, she’d have reported it as one of the reasons she wanted out.

Absolutely perfect, but I expect it will fall on the same deaf ears that all reality and facts do for said feminists.

It’s pretty sick, whether it was a woman or a man — but since it was a woman, is it really common for men to resist sex that strongly if they’re really attracted to a woman? I mean, presumably they WERE attracted, if they had long-term relationships with her, but it seems bizarre for a man, especially the young, teenaged boy, to be that resistant. Of course men DO have a right to refuse — the story just seems completely un-typical to me. That said, if it really happened then she certainly deserves to be behind bars and she seems too cold and uncaring to ever be a good mother to any children.

And I’m not saying females don’t rape males…but just at a guess, the majority would be horrid statutory rapes of young boys, which women seem to get away with all too easily. Most of the married women I know who talk about their sex lives say they have sex a lot more frequently than they’d personally choose to if it was up to them — not that they’re coerced, but just that they do it to please their husbands who want more frequent sex, whereas they could go for a long, long time and still be fine.

Some people on thought catalog were arguing whether or not the story was made up. Real or not, I think they missed the point.

I don’t think the first two examples are all that implausible. Its written in kind of a confusing manner but I don’t think the author and the teenaged boy were in a long term relationship at the time of the rape. She says she just got out of a 4 year relationship and then she started hanging out with the guy with the mustang who she had only known for a few months at most before she went after him. Sure teenage guys think about sex pretty much constantly but that doesn’t mean they won’t have reservations about jumping into it in the real world especially if he or his parents are religious in any way.

The second guy just sounded like he was busy trying to run his store. Would you want to have sex when you were busy trying to do your job? I guess that question depends on whether or not you care about your job but the article makes it sound like it was an important event for his business.

While reading through it seemed nearly certain that the perpetrator had never been caught or tried or imprisoned, meaning that even before the reveal it was far likelier the writer was a woman than a man.

If nothing else, I think we have a right to consistency.

I readily acknowledge (perhaps in contrast to some MRAs) that, due to innate differences in sex drive (men naturally want more sex, generally speaking) and neuropsychological traits, that on average, forced sex by the opposite gender is not as traumatizing for men as for women. Some of this may be cultural, in that men are generally raised to be less jealous of their sexuality and also less concerned for their personal safety than women. (it is also worth noting that black people are less wary of violent crime than white people, not because it’s less present, but the opposite, because it’s more present in their communities and so they’ve grown more used to it; this same factor helps explain male nonchalance about being victims of violence) But it is also at least largely innate that men tend to be less affected by being raped by women than vice versa.

Two points, however, must be made: 1) Despite the general differences between the genders regarding rape I mentioned above, the severity of the crime should be judged on a case by case basis. Some men may be severely traumatized by being raped by a woman, and these cases should be treated just as severely as if it were a woman, rather than telling the victim ‘most men don’t get like this, something must be off about you.’ Likewise, some women may be more like men, and genuinely not be quite so affected by being raped as other women would be. So generalities may exist regarding sex differences, but they are still just generalities, and so it should still be examined on a case by case basis.

Second point: If we are to accept that women being raped is more severe than men being raped due to innate differences between men and women, it is only fair that it should be more socially acceptable for men to cheat on their wives or girlfriends or solicit prostitutes or do other sexually controversial things, due to the different nature of the male libido. One cannot expect double standards in one realm while rejecting them in another, especially when both double standards are justified by the same fact: innate differences between male and female sexual behavior.

This seems so, since my bet is the sizable majority of male rapists of women at the very least get arrested for some transgression or another, if not rape, then sexual assault, ordinary assault, or domestic violence. Contrary to feminist mythology, few male rapists are criminal masterminds; they’re generally poorly educated, unintelligent, imbalanced men with poor impulse control. Not exactly Hannibal Lecter types.

Incidentally, I’m pretty sure an unintelligent, imbalanced, sociopathic woman with poor impulse control could fairly easily go through life reaping a good deal of havoc without even ever getting cuffed once.

That point is interesting, Susan. Sometimes a man does not want to have sex with wifey (cuz she is a serial cheater, for instance) but if wifey wants, does not matter if hubby wants or not (with his head) cuz his little head DOES. So it is very easy to a woman to “rape” a man. She only finds cooperation.

“Semper fidelis” is wrongly translated. It is not “Always faithful” but “always loyal”.

I agree that there needs to be consistency in prosecuting these crimes. And I didn’t mean that just because a situation seemed untypical, that any man should feel bad for not wanting to or for feeling upset over having been raped.

As far as prosecuting based on how traumatic one believes it may have been for a particular victim based on their gender or social background — no, I think prosecution should be based on the crime itself. Because how the crime is treated by law enforcement and judicial systems can have a huge effect on the overall degree of trauma that’s ultimately experienced by the victim.

And here I’m not talking about police just gullibly taking a person’s word for if they say they were raped — but rather about a basic willingness to listen and take the person seriously, ask questions in a respectful manner, and see if the person actually seems to have a case.

A person may have been horribly traumatized by the rape itself, but find some comfort and healing in the fact that the legal authorities took what happened to them just as seriously as if it had happened to one of their own loved ones. And person may have come through a rape feeling like “At least I’m alive and I’ll get through this” — and end up being horribly traumatized if the legal authorities acted like they came from a demographic for which this should be “no big deal.”

Also, different people behave differently in traumatic situations. It’s kind of like with death — the person who shows no immediate emotional reaction upon hearing that a loved one has died may be grieving just as much as or more than the person who immediately starts sobbing uncontrollably. You can’t always tell how much another person may be hurting.

This makes sense — just as a woman can experience an orgasm while being raped, but either way, it’s still rape.

“is it really common for men to resist sex that strongly if they’re really attracted to a woman?”

I think that is one of the misconceptions that allow for society to view women raping men as “not a big deal”… “I know you want it, I know you want it, I hate these blurred lines” 😛

But in all honesty, I have been in situations where she wanted it, but my mind wasn’t in the game. (Compare it to example 2)

And example 1, they were young, the guy might have been a virgin… to timid to make the moves himself (even though he had thought about it). So when this girl out of the blue decide that she want’s sex, he is left dumbstruck and unprepared.

For me, the whole men can’t be raped thing comes down to a simple truth:

For a man, sex type activities range from super awesome, to “I didn’t really enjoy that, I won’t do it again”.
Whereas apparently for a woman, they go from super awesome, to – “That was the worst thing that ever happened to me and I’ll never be the same again and there is nothing worse than that and I’m scarred for life”

“For a man, sex type activities range from super awesome, to “I didn’t really enjoy that, I won’t do it again”.”

Many male victims experience the severe trauma you attribute solely to women. Similarly, some women manage to shake off the incident in the manner you attribute to men. Rapists largely target the vulnerable, those whom they can more easily dominate and who are less likely to report them. In other words, rapists specifically target those who will have difficulty coping.
