I should have been a Navy SEAL, obviously.

Mr. JB had some business in a town that has a huge indoor waterpark, so the whole family went with him!  It’s kind of amusing, because the town is one of the quintessential “middle of nowhere” American towns that you would use in conversation as a synonym for “unsophisticated”, but for us, it’s the Big City.

Woo hoo!  We’re going to Boise, Idaho!  It’s great to see how the big city folks live!

Kind of like that.

I brought my computer thinking I might have some downtime to write a post, but it turns out I am having way too much fun, especially hauling a huge inflatable raft up four flights to ride the water slide!

Really, aside from the fact that I can’t do push-ups, I’m constitutionally averse to taking orders, I don’t particularly enjoy being yelled at, I dislike guns and I don’t want to talk to anyone about anything until I’ve had a nice cup of French roast – aside from all that, I kill when it comes to carrying inflatable rafts and I fear I missed my calling.

Should have been a NAVY Seal.

And what is up with surfers trying to take back the beach from the Marine Corps at Camp Pendelton?

They practice amphibious landings there, you idiots!  If it weren’t for the Marines and their landings, you wouldn’t be surfing, you’d be surfen.

Mund halten, you stupid hippies!

See you Friday!

Hooyah!

Lots of love,

JB

Hello JB and welcome to Boise, ID! I guess you are referring to the outdoor water park, Roaring Springs? I am a native New Yorker who moved to Boise 2 years ago and LOVE Idaho. Hope you enjoy your stay and you NEED to go eat at the Fork restaurant…pricey, but worth it!

The beach is already protected by military installation and a state park. Really the only reason that I can think of to put it on the Historic Register is so that they can file lawsuits and pad the pockets of their organization at the expense of the Marine Corps. I hope I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I’m right.

    You dislike guns?

I thought I liked you. Seriously, have you ever been around them much? They are ridiculous fun.

    Too much fun!

I dislike them strictly for myself.

    Hey Sarah!

I’m not actually in Boise, although I have been there and loved the art gallery!

I’m in a town of similar size and out-of-the-wayness. Everyone’s heard of it. Not many have been.

    I love small towns!

Is it Preston? The town where Napoleon Dynamite was filmed.

Aw, JB. Since most of those things are requirements for being a Navy Seal, it could never happen. But I bet you could make it as a Navy Beaver!

All that was very tongue in cheek. I’m severely disabled by a case of outdoorsmanitis in that I love huntin and fishin and honestly can’t see why anyone would dislike those things. Guns being a big part of the former…

Feeling up for some challenge, JB? For example reviewing Why Women Have Sex: Understanding Sexual Motivations from Adventure to Revenge (and Everything in Between)? Fun to read for someone not familiar with evolutionary psychology.

They wouldn’t even be “surfen”, they’d be “wellenreiten”. The Marines obviously forced us Germans to use the American word, a meager German suffix is all they left us. 😉

Looking at many people in action who CALL themselves surfers even though they obviously don’t have the required skills, I would say that a better word would be wellenkaempfen.” Most of them usually lose.

Its amazing how much more healthy all of those things are than the stuff you buy in the stores. its only a 5 hour hump to the saltwater from where i live so i often augment my walleye and northern pike stocks with salmon and halibut and cod, too.

It just so happens that the salmon run in rivers very close to where i live, too. Have a jetboat for running whitewater to get to the good spots. City folk dont know what theyre missing.

I caught a nine foot long 400 pound sturgeon over memorial day. Took the better part of two hours to get it in.

Now, is there anybody willing to describe and explain limerence (the somewhat derogatory term “oneitis” in PUA lingo) in everyday words?

How to recognize and stimulate the feeling in a potential prospect? How not to fall for it themselves? Is it an innate ability or a skill perfectible with practice?

Yet “flaking” and playing coy with such a purpose in mind is doomed to create resentment and, ultimately, “blowback” that “reformed nice guys” produce in return.
